Now that winter is right around the corner it might be a good idea to think about boosting your immune system before the flu and cold season hits us all. Just by taking vitamin C and other vitamins might help to fight off an oncoming cold. There are three things you can do to help soften the blow of a cold or flu:

  • Exercise- Regular and moderate exercise will stimulate the fighting T cells in your body into doing their job. The T cells are the attackers of the immune system and will fight off the foreign invaders like germs and viruses.

  • Vitamin C- Take 250 milligrams each day for 5-7 days. Vitamin C will not prevent the cold or flu, but it may soften the blow, decrease the symptoms and possibly shorten the duration of the cold. You can also get vitamin C through drinking orange juice or grapefruit juice.

  • Garlic- may help stimulate your immune system. Include one to three cloves of garlic each day in your diet by eating foods like: garlic bread, spaghetti sauce, lasagna, salad dressing with garlic, and by adding it to pasta salad, soups and stews. Do not use if you are on a blood thinning medication.

Think about getting the P90X Peak Multivitamin as it has antioxidants, all natural vitamins that will give you energy and help you build strength. By taking vitamins early and often your chances of fighting off a virus are better.
