In order for you to lose fat from your body, you have to burn the fat off. This means that you would get rid of more calories than you consume. If your body consumes more calories than are being used, the excess calories turn into body fat. To prevent recurrences, you would have to increase your exercise regimen, reduce your calorie intake, or both. It would be to your advantage if you did both as you would be able to get rid of the excess fat quicker.

In order to accomplish this, you can start by speeding your metabolism. Metabolism helps to control your weight. You can also control your own metabolism, which in turn would mean you’d be controlling your weight. In order to speed up your metabolism, you would have to exercise consistently or have a schedule for when you workout.

If you are very active along with exercise, your metabolism will also speed up and in turn, you’ll start to lose weight. However, if your body isn’t adjusted to an active lifestyle, take your time and your metabolism will eventually increase.

In addition to exercise, you must maintain a healthy and balanced eating regimen. This regimen should include lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grain foods, lean meats, poultry with the skin removed, fish and dairy products (low-fat). It’s better if you eat smaller meals at least 5 to 6 times a day. Eating larger meals defeats the purpose and you end up not having anything in your stomach for at least 5 to 7 hours. Eating like that can cause your metabolism to decrease because your body senses that you’re trying to starve. When you do consume the next meal, the food is stored as fat instead of the fat being burned.

Fruits and vegetables can fill you up quicker because they contain water. This means you won’t be able to eat as much. Also, your hunger cravings will decrease because you’re eating at more frequent intervals. With you eating more frequently, your metabolism will once again increase because your body is receiving nutrients on a regular basis.

It is also important to keep your body hydrated. Drink plenty of water and use the 8 glasses a day as a guide. If you are doing the P90X workout then you may want to check out their P90X Peak Recovery Formula as its made to help you recover from a hard workout and also to hydrate you. If possible, eliminate consuming foods with saturated fats, sugar, alcohol, and salt from your diet. If you can’t eliminate them totally, decrease the amounts you consume.

As mentioned earlier, exercise is key to losing the excess fat from your body. The more you exercise, the more fat you burn. Hip Hop Abs is a great exercise program focused on losing fat. This is one step of the losing fat process you can’t do without. You can start with walking for 30 minutes and increase the time as your metabolism increases. This way, you can stand to exercise for longer periods of time. You should exercise at least three to four times a week, giving yourself a few days to rest. The last thing you want to do is overwork yourself while exercising.

In addition to losing fat, your body needs to build muscle. Muscle helps to burn the calories so you have to incorporate some weight training. You can get some free weights if you’re doing it at home or use the ones they have at the gym. You should only do weight training two to three times a week as you don’t want to strain your body. If you’re not sure about how to weight train, consult with a licensed fitness trainer.

It’s also important to get plenty of rest since you also burn calories while sleeping. Getting enough sleep is key to an active body.

If you stick to these steps, the fat will be gone from your body in no time. You may start off slow, but it can be done.
