Office YogaCorporate Yoga is the in thing. More and more employers are using Yoga as a means of unifying and de-stressing their employees. Yoga does not require any heavy equipment, and therefore can be easily conducted in an office environment. Corporate Yoga can help reduce work stress and promote a positive state of mind among employees. You may want to consider the following guidelines if you are considering starting yoga sessions at your office.

1. The Place
Yoga requires a well ventilated space with a clean and carpeted floor, as the floor area will be frequently used. For hard floors Yoga mats will have to be arranged. The place should be preferably away from the work area where there will be not disturbing telephone calls or visitors. A board room with the chairs cleared away would be ideal. If the space is limited you may want to have a couple of sessions in batches.

2. The Time
The best time to conduct a Yoga session is early in the morning when the mind is free. Then there must also be enough time in between for them to have their breakfasts and get ready for work. If a mid-day time is preferable to your employees, you can arrange for a before lunch Yoga session.

3. The Motivation
Most employees cannot expect a yoga session at work, and therefore may be surprised on announcement of the same. Sending an email to them highlighting the benefits of Yoga can get them motivated and comfortable with the idea. You will also have to let them know if they have to pay for the same or if the sessions will be subsidized or free of cost.

4. The Instructor
Finding an instructor is not difficult these days. There are many Yoga institutes that offer corporate Yoga programs. See to it that you choose a certified instructor. Although there are vigorous forms of yoga, the calmer traditional style is more suitable for an office environment.

When a couple of sessions are through, you will find that a few adjustments would be necessary. Therefore you can encourage feedback from the employees and the instructor. This will keep your employees motivated and help you check the success of the Yoga program.
