To continue to feel the effects and maintain the benefits of using creatine, some experts advise in cycling creatine.  It is believed that creatine should be cycled as the effect tapers off when the creatine has reached its maximum effect.

When you start taking in creatine, consider your starting week as your loading phase.  In your first week, you need to consume about 20 grams of creatine a day.  This will be enough to increase your overall level of creatine in your muscles.  Just remember to have an increased water intake during your loading phase as high creatine levels can damage the kidneys.  Space your intake up to 4 times a day so you will not overload your system.  You must consider your diet, for if you already have started taking in creatine from food sources, you need to adjust your food accordingly.  If your total creatine per day reaches up to more than 25-30 grams per day, your loading phase is virtually useless.

On your 2nd week of creatine uptake, decrease the amount of creatine to 10 grams per day.  This is called the maintenance phase and typically lasts for 2-3 weeks.  In this phase, you will start to feel and see the results of your creatine supplementation.  As your body already as enough creatine to fully support your fitness training, you be training more extensively and relatively longer compared to days when you were creatine-free.

On your 4th week of creatine intake, you can stop your intake of creatine for 3 weeks.  Your body has already reached its peak in responding to creatine.  This can be manifested by lack of further development on muscle strength and muscle mass.  Once this phase of abstinence is finished, you can start again by repeating the loading cycle and onwards.

Keeping tabs on your creatine cycling can be confusing.  You can help monitor your progress by marking off the calendar ahead of your schedule so you will know what you should do for the current week and onwards. P90x, Turbo Fire, brazil butt lift, insanity workout
