Are you disgusted because you have “thunder thighs”? Do they rub together when you walk? That’s not a good feeling to have. However, you don’t have to despair. There is a solution to getting smaller thighs, but you have to do some work in order to attain them. Want to know what that is?

Believe it or not, there are people who are overweight or obese who say they are content with their bodies. They’re not looking to lose weight. However, if they want to live a long life, they should seriously consider losing weight to be healthy. It shouldn’t be possible if you’re overweight or obese that you should feel that way. Having a healthy weight for your body is very important.

If you are overweight or obese, you’re setting yourself up for some serious health issues. You can be at risk for heart disease. Heart disease comes about when your heart has to work overtime to pump blood to your body. The heart gets weak and tired. This can be caused by you being overweight or obese. It can also happen from you having high blood pressure or a high cholesterol level. These two issues can also come from being overweight or obese. You can also be at risk for a heart attack or a stroke.

When blood and oxygen can’t reach the brain, that’s when a stroke can occur. High cholesterol is one of the main contributors to a stroke. With high cholesterol, your arteries are filled with fatty deposits. Plaque from the deposits can break off and get to your heart, in turn causing a heart attack or if it gets to your brain, it can be a stroke.

If you’re looking to have children, being overweight or obese is not good for you. Your hormones begin to change. Your body has to have plenty of the right nutrients to produce the right chemicals. This is needed so you will have the hormones to assist in ovulation. However, there is still a chance you can become pregnant if you’re overweight or obese. Even then, you risk having a miscarriage or health issues with yourself and your baby.

Being overweight or obese can affect you in your everyday life. When you’re purchasing clothes, it may be difficult for you to find apparel in your size. You end up going to the specialty stores where they have sizes for larger people. Being in this state also hits you up financially, because you have to pay more money for you clothes. Not only does being overweight affect what clothes you can buy but also affects how people see you. You can have a low self esteem and end up not caring too much about yourself.

You may, as an overweight or obese person, experience problems using public transportation or getting on a plane. The seats are not designed that way. If you’re riding on a plane, you may have to pay for two seats because no one else will be able to sit with you. Of course, you wouldn’t be very happy about it.

The best way to combat this is to get some kind of weight loss program. Losing weight can help combat the problems that overweight and obese people face. A good suggestion is to start off with walking at least three to four times a week for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Also incorporate a healthy eating regimen to include fresh fruits and vegetables and proteins. This way, not only will you be assured of losing weight, but you will also feel better about yourself. Having a workout plan is important because it can help you keep focused on what you need to be doing as far as exercising is concerned. You should incorporate exercise as part of your daily regimen, or at least four to five times a week. It should be one of the things at the top of your list to do each week, even if it starts out with 20 minutes a day. You can always work your way up to and add more time as you go. As with anything else, you will never achieve your goal to get fit and lose weight if you don’t have a plan in place. You have to want this to be important in your life. You have to be about action and not just talk. Anyone can say they want to lose weight, but if they don’t make the move to do anything about it, including planning, then it’s all for nothing.

You can begin by getting an exercise log book and writing down your workout plans. You can find a lot of free ones online by doing a search for “exercise log or exercise logs”. You can get the P90X logs here. Write down some ideas about what kind of exercises you would like to do. It could be something as simple as walking for 20 minutes a day, or however many times a week. If you are doing the P90X workout, then you can use those P90X logs to keep you on track.

When you actually do it, write down how long you actually walked. If you did less, don’t despair. You just have to work yourself up to that point where you can get to 20 minutes and eventually beyond. You can also plan ahead and write down how much you would like to have walked in a week’s time, a few weeks or even a month. You can do the same thing with food. You can log in how, what kind of foods you ate, when you ate them and how much you ate, if applicable. Knowing what you ate is important. This way you know whether you’re eating the right foods.

In addition to an exercise log, you should also have an exercise journal. An exercise journal is like a diary. In this case you’re writing down what you did during your exercise workouts. You write down where you started from and ended up at. With an exercise journal, you can add more narrative as something to reflect back on. An exercise journal is a good tool to plan your exercises. This way you can stay on track with what you’re supposed to be doing. It also helps you see where you came from and how much you have improved.

You should also set goals every week. When you do this, start off with goals that are easily accomplished in a specified period of time. You can even set goals with your eating regimen, purposing yourself to remove foods from your diet that are not good for you and replacing them with foods that have lots of vitamins and minerals. You should set goals that are realistic and not something far-fetched.

When you start your exercise workout, start out small. Don’t go overboard and try to do things that are out of your reach. You can add on more as your body is able to endure more workouts and you’re able to do them for a longer period of time. Take your time because you won’t get instant results. You can start your workouts at home. You don’t have to get into debt paying monthly fees at a gym or fitness facility. Get yourself an exercise video for about $12 - $15 and work with that. Or if you live near a park where there’s a walking path or a nature trail, you can do that. Pace yourself and when you’re ready for more, you can add more time to your workout.

Try different things in your workout. Instead of walking, try walking up and down the stairs at home or if you’re in a place with an elevator and stairs, take the stairs instead if applicable. If you have a bicycle, ride it on a bike trail.
As you continue to plan your workouts, keep an open mind when you write down what you want to do in order to lose the weight. Planning your workouts can keep your structured and on the right path.

We have had questions about how to put the chin up bar and push up stands together. The push up stands do not come with instructions but don't freak out. Its not that hard to put together. Each of the P90X Push Up Stands come with 8 bolts, 8 nuts, 2 cross pieces and 4 short feet. Basically you put the screws in the only holes possible, and make them tight, its that easy.

The P90X Chin Up Bar is much more difficult but comes with directions on putting it together. The Chin Up Bar is built very sturdy and can hold up to 300 pounds, if placed correctly above the doorway. Both of the Chin Up Bar and Push Up Stands will have a little extra of the screw past the hole. As long as you tighten the bolts down so there isn't any movement, you will be fine.

Most people make the same New Year’s resolutions every year. One of the more popular ones is losing weight. Yes, people say they want to lose weight, but do they put their resolution in motion? Once they start thinking about the summer, they realize they only have five and a half months to get going and fulfill their goal, well now they have less than 4 months before summer kicks in.

There are different ways you can get in shape so you can wear that two-piece bikini or hip hugging swim trunks. You can do this at home, outside, or at a fitness center. Wherever you choose to do it, you should include the following workouts:

Start out with a stretching exercise.
You should always do this prior to starting your exercise workout regimen. You should also do it after you finish. Warming up and cooling down prevents your body from experiencing muscle strain.

You can start off with a cardio or aerobic exercise.
Walking, jogging, bicycling, fitness exercises are not strenuous and you can do any of these for at least 20 to 30 minutes. You should engage in these exercises at least three to four times a week.

Strength or muscle training is important to the mix.
You can use free weights, dumbbells, lifting bars, etc. to strengthen your muscles and your body. If you’re new to this, you’ll want to start out slow. The P90X workout routine can help you gain the muscle mass to be able to effectively workout. With each exercise, you want to get between 8 – 12 repetitions of each exercise until you start to feel tired. You should include exercises for the upper and lower parts of your body to even it out. Since strength and muscle training can be intense, you should do it at least 2 – 3 times a week. Make sure you set aside a day of rest in between workouts.

When you finish your exercise workouts, remember to cool down for at least 5 – 10 minutes. This can include some stretching and other light movements. In addition to preventing muscle strain, cooling down exercises can help your body regain a normal temperature.

As far as an eating regimen, stay away from fad diets. You should be aware of your daily food intake. Using these types of diets can do more harm than good. Depending on what you eat or don’t eat, you could be jeopardizing your balance by missing out on essential nutrients that you would need. You should eat reasonable portion sizes instead of overeating. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables as they contain plenty of vitamins and nutrients that you need to have energy. They also contain plenty of fiber, which is good for your system.

You can start out slow and work your way to your desired result. It’s important that you don’t rush into and workout routine, or you may hurt yourself. As you continue, at some point, you’ll want to include weight training in your regimen. If you’re not sure about what you can do, check with your physician before starting an exercise workout program. Don’t wait until the last minute to try and cram in a workout just so you can get in that bathing suit. It may do you more harm than good.

Drinking water at different times can provide benefits that you may not be aware of. Weight loss, improved health and more energy in your body—drinking water for these benefits can greatly impact you.

• You should drink at least two glasses of water when you wake up in the morning. Your body is still working hard for you while you are in la la land. While you’re nestled on your pillow at night, your water reserves become less. You will have more energy in the morning after your drink two glasses of water. If you have any toxins in your kidneys, water will help to flush them out by way of your bladder. The most concentrated time is when you initially urinate. You can assist this by drinking lots of water.

• During your workout routine, take a break and drink a small bottle of water every twenty minutes that you’re involved. If you don’t have any water in your system while you’re exercising, your body will become dehydrated. You should drink water during intervals while you’re exercising. It’s especially important for athletes to consume plenty of water. They can have serious health issues if their body is not hydrated before they commit to whatever sport it is they’re involved in. Before you start your P90X workout or Hip Hop Abs routine, try drinking some water to stay hydrated.

• For metabolism increase, drink two cups of water before you eat. It's been proven by German researches that if you drink two cups of water before eating, you can increase your metabolism by up to 30%. That's why it's emphasized to drink plenty of water, especially when you're working on losing weight.

• When you start feeling hunger pangs, drink a glass of water. Research has shown that at least half of all hunger pangs are created because a person is thirsty. Drink a tall glass of water if you start to crave for food. Allow yourself at least ten minutes before you feel a change. If you drink the tall glass as suggested, you probably won't feel hungry anymore. Sometimes, your mind may think you're hungry when you're actually thirsty. Leave the cinnamon rolls and potato chips alone and drink more water. You'll be amazed at how many pounds will drop off your body.

• If you consume alcohol and beverage drinks that contain caffeine, drink water in addition to that. Alcohol and beverage drinks with caffeine can make you feel dehydrated. The way you feel when you consume alcohol can mess with your blood's fluid balance. When you drink a glass of water for every alcoholic drink you consume, your body will remain hydrated. There will be less chance of you having a hangover. Also, drinking alcohol, coffee and tea can cause you to retreat to the bathroom more often. The electrolytes in your body can be affected and thrown off balance. So remember to keep water in your system.

Keeping water in your system can make a significant difference in your body and keep it cleaned out as well.
