After a strenuous workout, your muscles will be fatigued and in need of time and nutrients to repair and rebuild. Your muscles need protein to repair themselves. Protein bars are an excellent source of protein, but if you look carefully at the bars you see in some stores, you will see that these protein bars can be chock full of sugars and fats. Sugars and fats are the things you are trying to avoid in your diet because you are trying to maximize the results of your workout. Since many people find protein bars a convenient way of replenishing their muscles, finding a low calorie protein bar can be important. Most people get enough protein in their diet that they do not need to add protein supplements to their daily routine. If you are working out regularly and using a physically challenging workout such as the P90X Workout, you will need to a protein supplement. A supplement such as the P90X Recovery Drink is a great option, but many people do not like the liquid form. If you are one who prefers a protein bar, the P90X protein bars are a great choice for you. The P90X protein bars are packed full of protein. Each bar contains 20 grams of protein and only 260 calories. These bars will satisfy your appetite as well as meet the nutritional needs of your post-workout body. Adding a protein bar to your daily diet can take some balancing. Many people find that they use the protein bars as a meal replacement bar, or use the bar as a main component of their meal and add some fruit or other low fat items. These bars are nutritionally dense and while 260 calories is a lot for a protein bar, it is a significant part of your daily caloric intake. It is not a good idea to simply add a protein bar into your diet without considering the ramifications to your other meals. Giving your body the fuel it needs to efficiently recover from a workout is a very important part of the workout process. You muscles need that protein within a half hour to an hour after your workout in order to repair properly. This is something you need to remember after every workout. Following nutrition guidelines and watching what you eat to fuel your body is very important to the success of your workout routine. You cannot achieve the results you seek without adjusting your workouts as well as your nutrition. Supplements such the P90X protein bars can truly help you stay nutritionally balanced as well as maximizing your workout performance. Your Place For: Workout Routines - Workout DVDs - P90X

When using a strenuous workout program, proper nutrition is essential for the success of the program and for your overall health. Many top fitness programs are accompanied by nutrition guides that are designed to help you maximize your fitness potential. When you are looking for great results, you need to fuel your body properly. Many people focus on what they put into their bodies in terms of food to fuel the workouts they have coming up. But there is another dimension giving your body the proper nutrients it needs. You need to fuel your body after the workout sessions as well. That can be more important for achieving your desired results in your workout. Tony Horton created the P90X Workout, a total body workout plan designed to tone, sculpt and strengthen your body. He has also created a P90X Recovery Drink. This drink contains the perfect mixture of proteins to ensure your body can repair your muscles and continue to grow them. It contains both simple and complex carbohydrates to help revitalize your energy. It also contains antioxidants and vitamins that boost your body’s overall nutrition. Using the P90X Recovery Drink in the first hour after your workout is essential in helping your body have the tools it needs to repair and restore muscle. The formula reinvigorates your body and gives you more energy and nutrition. Many people focus on what they eat when they enter a workout program, but they do not think about what a workout sessions uses up in your body. The P90X Recovery Drink is essential for maximizing the results of your hard work. It can also help enormously in providing the energy to get you through the rest of your day. When you decide to take on a fitness program such as the P90X Workout, it is important to realize the level at which you are going to be exercising. This provides a strenuous workout for your body. This is a great thing for your body, but it is very important that you keep replenishing the stores of energy your body depletes during the workout sessions. A supplement such as the P90X recovery Drink will nourish your body and help you achieve your workout goals much more quickly. Your Place For: Workout Routines - Workout DVDs - P90X

Sometimes people get stuck in one way of thinking. You want to build your strength? You need to use weights. Some people think that weights are the only way to build muscle strength. But that is not true. Weights are a great way to build muscle strength, as well as to tone and to lengthen muscles. You can build strength by doing body weight exercises. You can also use resistance bands. Resistance bands are a great way to get a strength workout in without having to use weights.Resistance bands are made to withstand the rigors of a serious strength training workout. Many people will use resistance bands when there are no weights available. Lots of people travel with resistance bands because they are easy to pack and easy to use in a hotel room. But more and more people are using resistance bands in their every day workout routines. Many popular fitness workouts advocate the use of resistance bands. Programs such as 10 Minute Trainer, P90X, and ChaLean Extreme all include workouts using resistance bands. Tony Horton, the created of the P90X workout, is a strong believer in working out with resistance bands and not weights. You can achieve the results you desire using these bands. Many people do not want to invest a lot of money into their home gym. A weight set can be a pricey addition and some people are willing to skip that expense and buy a much more affordable set of resistance bands. Resistance bands come in many different lengths and resistance levels. If you are of average height, you should be easily able to buy resistance bands that will suit you. If you are shorter than average, you can buy bands that might be a bit too long and simply choke up on them. A problem arises when you are taller than average. You do not want bands that are too short. If you think you need custom bands, you can find a fitness equipment store that can cut the bands to suit your needs. Resistance bands are an affordable alternative to using weights in your workout. You will find that if you are using many of the more popular workout programs, you will be instructed to use resistance bands. They are inexpensive to buy and easy to store, and if you use them regularly, you can achieve great results. Your Place For: Workout Routines - Workout DVDs - P90X

How Avoiding the Gym Helps You Avoid ComparisonGoing to the gym can be a rough experience. There are days when everyone in the gym seems to be ripped, buff and beautiful. Except, of course, for you. It can feel as though you are the only person in the place who needs to drop those fifteen pounds and who needs to firm up her thighs. Some days, it can seem as though you are the only one without a blonde ponytail! One of the best things you can do for yourself if you find yourself in a place where going to the gym is getting discouraging is to stop going. Take a break from the gym and create a different kind of workout for yourself. This break might help your self esteem, your motivation, and you wallet! Workout out in your home can help you build your self esteem. If you have taken a long hiatus from working out, you might not want to begin again in a gym where people are watching you struggle to get back in shape. Beginning those workouts at home can give you the time and space necessary to develop your confidence again. You can struggle through those pushups and cardio challenges in the privacy of your own home, at least until you feel like you have made enough progress not to be embarrassed. Sometimes taking a break from the gym and working out at home is good for simply because you do not have to compare yourself to anyone. It can be discouraging to be in a class at the gym with a person next to you moving easily through the workout while you are struggling. There is no way to avoid comparing yourself to that person, but if you work out at home, you might find that you are just easier on yourself in general. You might let yourself off the hook a bit more and be more satisfied with the results of your own workout. Some people are great at sharing their workout goals with others. Some people practically paste their diet and exercise goals on their foreheads so everyone knows what they are up to. Lots of people are uncomfortable putting those goals out there. If you are more that type of person, working out at home might allow you to accomplish your goals at your own pace, in your own time, without having to discuss your progress (or lack thereof) with anyone. Gyms are great places to find companionship and motivation. But sometimes, we all need a break. Your Place For: Workout Routines - Workout DVDs - P90X

Working out can seem like, well, work sometimes. Sticking to a routine that includes crunches and sit ups and more crunches, and push ups, and more crunches can be very, very hard. And very, very dull. So when a workout routine comes along that is effective and powerful but does not include the “routine” aspects of a workout, it can be a great thing.Shaun T created Hip Hop Abs as a workout program created in such a way, that your abs are what is targeted directly. Shaun T hit on something that no other ab program was doing at the time – making the workout fun. Hip Hop Abs makes you feel like you are hitting the dance floor, not hitting the gym. By working out with this program, you can learn some new dance moves and truly enjoy your workout time. The Hip Hop Abs program contains four workouts on four DVD’s. The first is Secrets to Flat Abs. During this DVD, Shaun T takes you through a series of moves that will help you target your upper and lower abs, and your oblique’s while you are burning fat. Shaun T teaches you the “Three T’s” of Hip Hop Abs – tilt, tuck and tighten. Hip Hop Abs also includes a fat burning cardio workout. You will use fun dance moves to burn fat while listening to popular songs. The Ab Sculpt DVD is designed to get you that six pack, all while never doing a single crunch! The last DVD in the series is the Total Body Burn DVD. You will work on body sculpting by working cardio through your dance moves. You will also get a nutrition guide with this workout series. The guide will help you make nutritious food choices that match your workout goals of losing fat and developing muscle. The package also includes a 30 day tracker where you can plan your routines and chart your progress. You will also be given online support, which is available all the time. You can ask questions or chat with others who are working the program. You will find help, support, and guidance online. Sometimes, one of the best things you can do for your workout routine is to shake it up. Hip Hop Abs is a great way to energize your workout routine by learning some new moves and having a great time. At the same time, you are getting a great workout! One of the greatest motivators in keeping you focused on your workout routine is to learn something new. Many people get in a workout rut and they can only manage to learn a few exercise routines that they will repeat over and over. Cardio is simply a walk or a run, or a bike ride. They will work upper body one day and lower body the next. This is one of the reasons why people can not sustain a home workout routine.Learning a new discipline or a new workout can be energizing, both for your body and your mind. That is why it is great to find something unexpected in a total workout system, like you do in the P90X Workout. The P90X Workout contains quite a few intense cardio workouts, but one of the most challenging is the P90X Kenpo workout. The Kenpo workout will help you burn calories and build a stronger, leaner body. It will also challenge your mind by requiring you to learn new martial arts moves. Some of these moves can even be used in self defense training. Kenpo karate is known as the first American martial arts discipline. It was influenced by the martial arts of China and India. Kenpo was started by a Hawaiian named Ed Parker, and it focuses on using the strength of your entire body in martial arts moves such as strikes, kicks and blocks. These moves are combined in many different ways. The study of this martial art is designed to strengthen the body, improve coordination, increase balance and to develop coordination. The P90X Workout offers the Kenpo workout as a way to challenge your body and your mind using a total body workout. These exercises develop tremendous core muscle strength as well as coordination. The Kenpo workout will put you through a cardio workout that will get your heart rate up and will help you burn the fat you are looking to lose. The Kenpo workout is a great addition to the P90X Workout. Not only will it challenge your mind and your body, but it might also whet your appetite about learning martial arts. You might want to go on and learn some other forms of martial arts or you might want to further your study or Kenpo. Your Place For: Workout Routines - Workout DVDs - P90X

Why You Should Look Good Even If No One Is LookingWe all know people who have to have the perfect outfit for every occasion, even going to the gym. These people have closets full of workout clothes, or so it seems, because they never seem to repeat the same outfits. It can be downright discouraging to see them walk into the gym. One of the benefits of working out at home is that you do not have to see those people! No one is going to prance through your living room, modeling the newest workout wear and making you feel like you should be doing it all just a little bit better. Working out in your own home takes all the pressure off you to have workout clothes. You can work out in your pajamas if you want! You can work out in the same clothes you wore yesterday, or the day before yesterday. Or both! Nobody should take what they wear seriously if they are working out at home. Or should they? Working out at home can be difficult. Many people find it hard to keep the motivation going to get to that workout every day. Some people find it much easier to cheat during a home workout than they would in a class at the gym or even in gym using the weight machines. In a gym, people are watching. In your home, nobody knows what goes on. One of the ways to keep yourself honest and keep yourself motivated is to take your own workout seriously. It is a focused and purposeful time during your day that you use to not only stay fit, but to energize yourself and to refocus. You need to take that seriously if you want to maximize the results of your workouts. Working out in your pajamas might not put you in the proper frame of mind for a workout. But if you take the time to change your clothes into your workout clothes and then get started, you will find that you will take the whole process more seriously. Another thing to keep in mind is that part of the reason you are working out is to make yourself look better. Sure you want to feel better, but looking good is a very important part of the workout process. If you take the time to put together two workout outfits that you feel comfortable in and you look good in, you can wear those outfits for you workout. They will energize you and you will feel good. And that is money well spent. Your Place For: Workout Routines - Workout DVDs - P90X

Yoga is a form of exercise that is commonly misunderstood. Lots of people feel that yoga is just some stretching and breathing, lots of thinking about your belly button and the one-ness of the universe, and maybe some flexibility moves for those people who really want to push themselves. In truth, there are many different forms of yoga and people embrace yoga for many different reasons. Many people who are beginning a home workout program want to include something that will lengthen their muscles and work on their flexibility. Many workout programs include yoga as a means to accomplish this. The P90X Workout contains a Yoga X DVD. This type of yoga is very different from what many people expect with a yoga workout and it is a very challenging workout. Yoga X begins at a nice pace. You go through some poses and you start to feel a little relaxed and almost begin to question whether or not this is the workout for you. You wonder whether you should be spending your time doing something a little bit more challenging. And then you start to understand how hard you are really working with the Yoga X workout. And you begin to wonder whether you will make it to the end of the DVD! The great thing about yoga is that you are instructed to meet your body where it is. While there are other forms of exercise where you should strive for perfect form, that is not the case with yoga. You will learn yoga poses that you will not be able to do at first. You might get halfway into a pose, or you might find that your hips or your shoulders are not as flexible as they need to be to get fully into a pose. With yoga, this is part of the process. Understand that you need to listen to your body and work with where you are. Try to expand your physical limits each time you go through a pose, pushing a bit farther than you had gone the last time. We have been conditioned to believe that the two types of exercise we need are cardio and strength training. But in adding Yoga X to his workout, Tony Horton added a dimension that we all need but did not know that we needed. Yoga adds flexibility training to your workout. And yoga adds strength training to your workout as well. Many of the yoga moves use body weight as a way to strength and lengthen your muscles. Yoga also works on your breathing and your concentration. All of these qualities make yoga a necessary addition to your workout routine. There are some incredible Yoga DVDs that you can try as well. You will want something that brings about the results you are looking for. You will want it to do the work it is designed for. You will also want equipment that is durable. The P90X home workout recommends the use of a Manduka Plyo/Yoga Mat for its exercises. This mat, specifically designed for the P90X workout, is designed for comfort, safety, and performance. It was designed to last. It is thicker and denser than traditional yoga mats. This helps to provide a shock absorbing surface for jumping moves. This mat stay put and helps keep you safe by providing a stable landing surface. This mat can help protect your joints, especially the knees and ankles, which can sometimes take a beating in workouts. Traditional yoga mats are designed to protect you against slipping on the floor as well as to provide a layer of padding to help cushion you against a hard floor surface. A traditional yoga mat is a bit “sticky”, designed to give you a bit of traction to keep from slipping. Choose a mat for your workout purposes. If you are a yoga enthusiast and do not include plyometrics in your workout, a yoga mat might be just the thing for you. If you include plyometrics as part of your workout, you will want to think about a Manduka mat as an essential piece of equipment for your home gym. It will provide a stable exercise surface, it will help cushion your joints, and it will help keep you safe while you are working out. Choose a workout mat that is in your price range, suits your needs, and one that is made to last. Your Place For: Workout Routines - Workout DVDs - P90X
