Insanity Workout – Interval Training

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Shaun T’s Insanity workout has finally been out for over a year now, a year is plenty enough time to weigh this workout product. Is it everything it is cracked out to be? Is it really insane? The answer is a big YES. There are not many workouts out there that can compete with P90x in the effectiveness of the workout, but Shaun T’s Insanity Workout has definitely done just that. The Insanity Workout has not been disappointing at all, the results people have gotten from this workout has been pretty amazing, and just in 60 days. The reason why Insanity works so well is because of its Maximum Interval Training.

The Insanity workout is different from other interval training exercises, because instead of focusing on short burst of energy and longer breaks, it does the opposite, it focuses on long burst of energy with shorter breaks. Interval training is absolutely amazing for your body, but you are not only doing Interval training with Shaun T, but you are also doing body resistance moves in the middle of the workouts too.

The combination of Interval training and body resistance training is a match made in heaven. They complement each other so well and will help expedite your results. Another plus about the Insanity workout, is that you do not need any workout equipment meant, your body is your tool. The Insanity workout is great for your heart, lungs, toning muscles, and building stamina. It will also help you shed off those unwanted pounds. Do not make the mistake of thinking that this is an easy workout, by the end of the warm up you might want to throw in the towel, but if you press on and keep to the nutrition guide, you should see incredible results with the Insanity Workout

Abdominal Training with Barbell Side Bends

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Abdominal side bends are done with the use of a barbell placed on top of your shoulders or with dumbbells held over your head while you bend sideways.  This compound exercises builds strength as it targets your abdominal muscles as well as your lower back.  The weights used here will not be as heavy compared to presses and lifts.  It is important to use the lightest sets of weights that you can carry on your shoulders without straining your neck but heavy enough to give you a good workout.

Start by placing the barbell at the back of your shoulders.  Roll it down until you are able to hold the barbell without straining your arms while keeping your neck straight and relaxed.  Your hands should hold the barbell with the palms facing forward and placed several inches laterally from your shoulders.  Keep your back straight, chest out, abdominal contracted and held in.  Your feet should be planted firmly at the ground held apart at shoulder breadth.  Keep this as your starting position.

Inhale as you bend to your right side, as far as you can.  Always keep your head, neck, and back at a straight line.  Your shoulders should always be held back and stationary.  The only part of your body that should be moving is your waist.  Keep this position for a second, then exhale as you go back to starting position.  Repeat the procedure on the other side, always keeping your torso stationary.

Repeat with the recommended number of reps and sets.  If you have lower back problems, consult with your physician to see if you can do the exercise.  Generally, this exercise is not recommended if you do have lower back issues or injuries.

Does the Insanity Workout Work?

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Insanity WorkoutIf you’ve asked the question, “Does The Insanity Workout Work?” you might get many different answers.  The real question you should be asking yourself is, “Will I see results from the Insanity Workout?”  The answer is YES!  If your “idea” of the Insanity workout actually working is getting totally ripped, then you might have false expectations, because it depends on who you are.  If you are someone who only has 10 pounds to lose before you are ripped, then you will probably see ripped results, but if you are someone who has 20 to 30 pounds to lose, then you probably will not see 6-pack abs after the 60 days is over, but you will still see incredible results.

The Insanity workout is designed to work.  Interval training has been around for years, and professional athletes and personal trainers have adopted interval training into all their workout routines.  Your success with the Insanity workout depends solely on YOU!  If you push yourself and do not slack with your workouts than there is no reason why you should not see results.  It does not mean that you have to keep up with the people on the workout, but it does mean that you have to challenge yourself physically and mentally.

How Can You Achieve Maximum Results?

Another way to make your Shaun T Insanity workout successful so you can get the most results, is pairing it with the Insanity Nutrition Guide.  This is where many people fail, because the hardest thing to change is bad eating habits.  The Insanity nutrition guide is not hard to follow and actually has some pretty good meals, but many people continue to eat what they want, limiting their results.

So Does The Insanity Workout Work?  Will You See Results?

YES!

Do you want to see some results?

Well, I have done it!  Here is my experience with the Insanity Workout.

When I started the Insanity workout I was 208 pounds, I wanted to make sure that I lost some weight and built some muscle.  I followed the nutrition plan pretty well, it was not exact, but it was close enough.  In the first couple weeks I lost 6 pounds, putting my weight down to 202 pounds, which was great!  The next couple weeks I continued to lose weight, dropping below 200 pounds to 199 lbs.!!

The Insanity workout was a struggle for me at first.  The first workout I did “The Fit Test”  I threw up!  I have not thrown up in a workout in a long time, so it was surprising to me, fortunately I made it to the bathroom.  The first week was hard, my body was so sore.  But after getting some good sleep and after my body adjusted to the shock of interval training the soreness went away.

I only did the first month of the workout, because I got pretty sick with the swine flu in the middle of the program.  But I experienced some great results even in the first month.  I included some pictures to show you the difference in just 2 weeks.  I am not sucking in!!  I fully believe in the Insanity Workout.
